OUR FAMILY’S BROKEN BOW FAVORITES
All four cabins are located in the highly sought after Timber Creek Trails area of Hochatown in Broken Bow Oklahoma. All three lots have gorgeous mature trees and year round creeks!
You will be close to the town's best breweries, restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee shops and wineries. There is so much to see and do in Broken Bow. Planning where to go and what to eat can be the most stressful part of a vacation, so I hope our family's personal recommendation list will help you narrow your options down and alleviate some of the pre-vacation stress!

EAT
Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Tap Room
(Our personal favorite! It is a must. Be prepared for a long wait though. I especially like the Tree Hugger pizza, and my husband loves the Dire Wolf. The breadsticks are great too!)
{Pizza, Pub, Live Music}
10271 N Hwy 259
Hochatown, OK 74728
(580) 494-6030
(Great place for steak, grilled fresh veggies etc. It is the best place for anniversaries etc. (although it’s still a lake town so don’t feel like you have to dress super nice, some people will be in lake clothes and some in date attire) They take reservations!)

Broken Bow, OK 74728

(580) 494-636
(Fast casual fried seafood place. We like their Beignets; they have a great outdoor patio with a pretty view of a pond. Their soups are decent too. All of their fried food is average, not anything to rave about, but it hits the spot if that is what you are craving. They also happen to be open in the down season more than other restaurants.) {Catfish & Po-Boys}

For sure get the peach, pear, ham, pepper jack, and banana pepper one. It sounds weird but is SO good! Get the cucumber salad side dish that goes along with it!)
17 Oak Leaf Ln

(Tree Frog is awesome and friendly. You park your car at their location and the friendly owners shuttle you to the water (maybe 10 mins tops drive). Bring ziplock bags and bungee cords to fasten your items to your kayak. I recommend stopping at the big, lone rock in the middle of the river to rest/ eat food/ swim. They have a pick up location by the bridge/underpass and they shuttle you back. They also have a bathroom where you can change. We kayaked 8am-noon. The earlier the better on the river!)

Beavers Bend State Park Swimming “Beach” Area
{With kayak, peddle boat, and paddle board rentals (non-guided)}
(It’s a sandyish beach area with calm water, $15 peddle boat or kayak river rentals, and snow cone stand. It’s my children’s favorite. The portion of the river that you kayak is very calm with gorgeous trees growing in the middle of the water, and beautiful cliffs. This is perfect for families with young children who are nervous to take them on an actual big, guided kayaking trip, or for couples/families who want to go at their own pace without a guide.)

ENTERTAINMENT
Hiking in Beavers Bend State Park
Alltrails.com or download the All Trails App
{Maps with trail directions, reviews, and descriptions}
One of our favorite family friendly trails is called Friends Trail it is an easy/moderate loop that runs past a gorgeous part of the river. There is a fork at the beginning of the trail. Head right if you want a more moderate elevation change and to do the full loop. Head left if you want it to stay fairly flat, this way still leads to the river. You can hike out the same way if you don’t want to complete the loop.
Tree Trail is a fantastic easy 1.2 mile trail that perfect for kids. We love it! It leads you past a Native American sculpture, along a beautiful creek that my kids love to splash in, over a bridge, and back to the Forest Heritage Center. Skyline Trail is a hard trail that is a 9.5 mile hike that leads to the lake, it has water crossings and steep sections. Lookout Mountain Loop is a 2.9 mile moderate trail with pretty views.
